Types of Small Groups at Riverbend

Journey GROUPS

Journey groups are our traditional semester based small groups. These groups meet during regularly scheduled 8 to 10 meetings in homes and at our church. The topics range in scope and focus on growth and connections. We believe deeper connections happen in a smaller group format.

LIFE GROUPS

These are small groups with 6-15 participants that are focused on building strong relationships, developing spiritual practices, and learning to influence others. Unlike Growth Groups, these groups will meet on an ongoing basis with no end-date, thus allowing for deeper connections and community.

AFFINITY GROUPS

This year we are introducing an alternative to our regular small group format -- Affinity Groups. These are small groups focused on an affinity the group shares together. It could be a hobby or a group they are involved in regularly, like our home schooling group, “Homegrown”. These affinity groups meet regularly throughout the year and focus on like connections and deeper community together.
